Pemberton hires Carsten Guenther as Senior Credit Officer
Overview
Pemberton, the independent asset management group backed by Legal & General, today announces it has strengthened its London risk management team with the appointment of Carsten Guenther.
Carsten brings more than a decade of experience in risk management and holds significant expertise in the underwriting and restructuring of leveraged loans. He will work alongside Nicole Gates, our Chief Credit Officer.
Nicole and Carsten previously worked together for 10 years at GE Capital. During his time in its European leveraged finance business, Carsten worked on a number of GE Capital’s transactions, including restructuring and work-outs; the recovery strategy of the Italian banking platform and underwriting and execution in the sponsor finance telecom and media group.
Carsten’s appointment as a senior analyst in our credit risk function comes at an important juncture for Pemberton. This year we are planning to launch new strategies which offer investors access to different parts of the capital structure and fulfil different risk-return requirements.
In broadening our platform, it is crucial that our credit underwriting and risk management develop in line with that growth. Carsten will play a key role in helping us to achieve that.

Pemberton is at a very exciting stage. I am looking forward to the opportunities its growth plans bring and deploying the expertise I gained at GE Capital in helping to bring those plans to fruition.
