Pemberton Hires New Head of Sustainable Investing


Overview

Pemberton, one of the leading alternative credit managers, today announces the appointment of Niamh Whooley as Managing Director and Head of Sustainable Investing.

Niamh will work across all areas of the business to deliver on Pemberton’s ESG commitments, further develop Pemberton’s sustainable investments, lead the dialogue with key stakeholders and work in partnership with clients globally as Pemberton’s strategy continues to expand. In this new role, she will report to Harriet Steel, Partner and Global Head of Clients.

Niamh brings with her over 15 years of experience and leadership in sustainable investing, having held senior roles at Goldman Sachs, PIMCO, Société Générale CIB and Fidelity International. Most recently, she was Global Head of Fixed Income ESG Research at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, working closely with investments teams across asset classes on ESG integration and with global clients to develop investment solutions to help meet their sustainability objectives while maintaining regulatory alignment. Throughout her career, Niamh has actively contributed to numerous industry initiatives aimed at promoting global standards in sustainable investing, including as a consortium member of the UN Principles for Responsible Investment’s Inevitable Policy Response (IPR), and serving on the PRI’s Sustainable Development Goal’s (SDG) Advisory Committee and the Bondholder Engagement Working Group (BEWG).

Pemberton has led from the front in private credit, embedding ESG in its investment process and proactively engaging with borrowers to support long term, sustainable and profitable growth. Niamh’s appointment will further accelerate Pemberton’s leadership in this area and help amplify the positive impact alternative investment managers can bring to sustainable investing.
