Symon Drake-Brockman appointed to the City of London Corporation Advisory Board socio-economic diversity Taskforce
Overview
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and HM Treasury have commissioned the City of London Corporation to lead a taskforce to improve socio-economic diversity at senior levels within UK financial and professional services.
Our Manging Partner, Symon Drake-Brockman, was appointed to the Advisory Board of the socio-economic diversity taskforce in financial and professional services and our Head of People, Performance and Marketing, Paul Aldrich was appointed to the Working Group to the taskforce. This taskforce has a vision of ‘equity of progression’, where high performance is valued over ‘fit’ and ‘polish’.
The taskforce will have three workstreams:
- Leading an industry consultation on how government, regulators and sector bodies can incentivise employer action on socio-economic diversity;
- Creating a membership body/peer network for financial services, to increase employer engagement and accountability in delivering socio-economic diversity at senior levels;
- Producing a productivity analysis, to build the business case for increasing socio-economic diversity at senior levels in financial and professional services.
We are excited to be a part of this drive for change, and Pemberton will be joining a group of exceptional influential, senior leaders to help deliver the taskforce’s vision.
