Carsten Guenther

Senior Credit Officer

Carsten has 14 years’ experience in risk management focusing on underwriting and restructuring of leveraged loans.

Carsten joined Pemberton in 2016 and leads Pemberton’s Credit Analyst team which is responsible for analysing new investment opportunities by conducting due diligence, structuring / modelling transactions, running performance scenarios, and assigning an internal credit rating. In addition, the team is responsible for the ongoing monitoring and management of existing portfolio investments, including regular credit and rating reviews. He is also responsible for working on any assets in restructuring.

Carsten joined Pemberton from GE Capital where he worked in the European leveraged finance business, latterly as Managing Director for work-out and restructuring. He was also a member of GE Capital’s international restructuring centre of excellence with a principal focus on supporting the recovery strategy of the Italian banking platform.

From 2004 until 2008, Carsten worked in the underwriting and execution function of GE Capital’s sponsor finance telecom and media group. Carsten started his career at GE Capital in 2002 completing the Financial Management Program, a two-year rotational graduate scheme.

Carsten holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree from the Management School of Lancaster University, UK. He is fluent in English and German.
